Questions
About the Library of Content Service
How can I use content from the Library of Content?
As a subscriber, you can use the content as you wish - on your website,
in newsletters and other marketing materials. The Electronic Display
Content can be used on screens in your branches. You may also wish
to use Worksheets, Checklist or the Family Records Almanac as handouts
at workshops.
Can I modify and edit articles from the Library of Content?
As a subscriber to the service, you can use the content as you wish.
You can make edits and add references to your products and services.
There is no need to attribute the content to Financial Wisdom.
I want to build my own Financial Library as part of my website,
how would I do that and how much effort is required for updating
it?
With
the Library of Content service, you can choose what content to use,
how to present it and how to manage it. The Library of Content CD
includes HTML formatted articles to make the process easier and
templates for "front page" entry points to reference sites.
You may choose to simply upload those files to your site. However,
as a practical matter, you will probably want to modify the look
and feel of the content to make it more compatible with your overall
website design. You may also wish to modify individual articles
with references to your products and services.
With the Library
of Content update cycle of February, May, August and November, there
are steps that should be taken.
- Review the
Library of Content update CD and identify which articles have
changed - separately identified in Updated Content Folder. The
February update usually has the largest number of updated articles
because of changes in the tax, IRA and retirement environment.
In February 2008, about 60 articles were updated. The other quarters'
updates usually number between five and ten.
- Decide whether
these changes are ones that you want to incorporate into your
website.
- Change your
HTML files and upload them to your website.
Questions
about the Branded Linked Services
What is the process for adding a branded linked site to my website?
Each of these sites is branded with your name and logo. Financial
Wisdom hosts and manages (updates) the sites and you simply add
one link to your website that takes website visitors to your branded
site. This eliminates the need for you to update the site and makes
the process easy for you. Branding and activating the site usually
only takes a day or two.
How much customization is possible with the linked services?
The top banner is customized with your name and logo. This banner
appears on the front page of the Online Resource Library as well
as each of the articles.
Can I provide a link from product pages to articles in the Online
Resource Library?
Yes, you would identify the URL of the article you want in the Online
Resource Library and then add it to your product page. You may want
to consider a "Learn More" text box on your product page
with links to relevant articles. The articles would appear with
your name and logo in a top banner.
Can I use content from the branded linked services in a newsletter
or other marketing efforts?
As a user of a Financial Wisdom branded link site, you can also
"cut and paste" content for your other efforts.
What is the difference between the Online Resource Library, the
Financial Tool Kit and the Financial Foundation Center?
All three provide similar tools, resources and information to help
consumers make better financial decisions. There are a few differences.
The Online Resource Library is designed for a broad consumer audience.
The Financial Tool Kit has a similar library of articles, but also
includes a series of Checklists that help consumers address issues
on a step-by-step basis. The Financial Foundation Center has additional
articles for young adults as they face new financial life events
and begin their financial lives.
Can I offer the link to a branded site to a local organization like
the Chamber of Commerce or a SEG?
Yes, along with providing a community service, the site could service
as an entry point to your website.
General
Questions
I already have calculators on my site, why should I consider having
more content?
Calculators are important, but ultimately they just perform math
calculations. Helping consumers make better financial decisions
takes more than math. Consumers will make wiser decisions if they
can better understand their financial issues and understand how
an institution's products and services provide the benefits they
need. Website content (articles, worksheets along with calculators)
can help with that understanding and help position your products
as solutions. A full range of Financial Tools positions your products
as solutions.
We would like to have Financial Wisdom content available
on our website, but which service is best?
The answer usually depends on the answers to two questions:
- How do you
want to use the content?
- Do you wish
to allocate internal resources to the initial and ongoing management
of the content?
If you wish
to fully integrate the content into the design of your site and
customize the content with references to your products, the Library
of Content provides the flexibility you want. You choose the content
you want and how to present and manage it. The CD includes HTML
formatted articles (as well as in Word format) and "front page"
templates that you can customize if you wish. However, keeping the
content current will take some effort. Each quarterly Library of
Content update includes new and modified content that you will want
to review and probably integrate into your site. Over a year, there
will probably be over 100 articles that change.
If you do not
want to devote resources to the ongoing updating, Financial Wisdom
handles that responsibility with our branded linked services. You
simply add one link from your website to your branded site.
What are the costs of the different Financial Wisdom services?
An annual subscription to the Library of Content is $5000. The branded
linked services are priced at $300 per month individually. Two sites
would be $500 per month. There are no set up fees and no long term
commitments. Billing is quarterly in advance and you can cancel
at any time.
Does Financial Wisdom offer calculators?
No, Financial Wisdom focuses on content in the form of articles.
However, we do include a few calculators in our branded linked services
if you wish. In addition, there are some articles in both the Library
of Content and the branded linked services that have calculators
integrated into the article that were designed for the
